Artist Statement
I am inspired by the spontaneity of order - how the unplanned placement of an object can serve as a visual cue directing movement across a landscape. My art is an exploration of this concept; no piece in my collection is planned, and no piece is complete until its composition renders a pattern.
The unrest I experience in the development process is quieted only once my eyes are directed about the canvas - when they cannot move about it in any other way. Thus, meaning is drawn from the individual components that challenge the viewer to rely upon non-figurative elements for interpretation.
